Implant Dentures and All-on-4®

The decision to replace missing teeth can seem daunting with so many methods available, including dental implants, dentures, and dental bridges.

Choosing the ideal treatment for you is a personal decision, but our dentist helps patients by educating them on the advantages of each one. Sometimes, combining two solutions may be the ideal solution for tooth loss, as in the case of retaining full dentures with implants.

Choose the Stability of Implant Dentures

Dental implants have been used for decades to replace single or multiple missing teeth. They are often used to replace a single missing tooth, topped off with a dental crown to restore appearance and function.

However, we commonly use implants combined with dentures to replace multiple missing. Implant-supported dentures and All-on-4 or All-on-6 dentures are also services we commonly recommend for our Orange County patients.

The Drawbacks of Removable Dentures

The most economical decision when replacing an entire arch of missing teeth is full removable dentures; however, it's a constant challenge to keep them in place, even with dental adhesives.

Denture-wearers commonly experience soreness and irritation when their replacement teeth move or shift unpredictably, resulting in pain and discomfort. Dentures that don't stay in place affect your ability to eat your favorite foods and smile confidently, both of which impact your self-confidence.

Instead of settling for a reduced quality of life, our dentists encourage patients to consider the stability of implant-supported dentures.

How Do Implant Overdentures Work?

Implant-supported dentures are also referred to as overdentures or snap-on dentures. These dentures can be removed easily by the patient for cleaning.

At CDIC, our highly-trained dentists place two dental implants surgically in the lower jawbone. Implant placement surgery is followed by osseointegration, a process where the bone in the jaw grows and fuses with the implant post.

After healing, the implants are stabilized in the jawbone, and implant dentures function like natural teeth. Your aesthetic dentures are designed with attachments that snap onto the implants in your jaw. The implants are secure enough to stabilize the dentures and are an excellent solution for ill-fitting dentures.

All-on-4: Fixed Full Arch Replacement

For implant dentures to work, there must be sufficiently dense bone in the jaw to secure the implants. We may recommend bone grafting for patients who have suffered bone loss and don't qualify for implant dentures.

However, for patients who aren't interested in a separate bone grafting procedure, All-on-4 treatment is often the perfect solution.

How Do All-on-4 Dental Implant Dentures Work?

All-on-4 or All-on-6 dentures are a revolutionary concept that offers the replacement of a full arch of missing teeth with just four to six implants. This technique involves placing implants strategically in the jaw bone to maximize contact with existing jawbone tissue.

We customize your prosthetic teeth to complement your smile perfectly and design them with attachments that connect to the implants in your jaw. All-on-4 dentures are as stable as implant dentures and can only be removed by the dentist.

One of the benefits of All-on-4 implant dentures that our patients most appreciate is that we can usually place the implants and attach the denture the same day! This is why you may hear them referred to as teeth-in-a-day.

Why Choose Us for Implant Dentures and All-on-4

Many general dentists can restore a dental implant with a crown, bridge, or denture. However, not all have the expertise to perform implant placement and restoration.

As our practice name implies, the dentists at the Cosmetic and Dental Implant Center have extensive training in implant surgery and cosmetic restoration of dental implants. We get our high-quality implant materials exclusively from Nobel Biocare™, the world leader in innovative, evidence-based restorative dentistry.

Are You Ready to Smile Confidently Again?

Patients at CDIC who have implant-supported dentures are delighted with the results and their ability to eat all their favorite foods and smile confidently again. Their only regret is that they didn't do it sooner!
